Responsibilities:

• Process insurance claims by verifying patient information and insurance coverage to ensure accuracy before submission.
• Submit insurance claims promptly to appropriate insurance companies while adhering to billing guidelines and industry standards.
• Manage patient billing operations including generating bills, explaining charges to patients, and resolving billing inquiries.
• Post payments received from both patients and insurance companies accurately into the billing system to maintain up-to-date records.
• Utilize medical coding knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, treatments, and services.
• Maintain patient account records by updating billing information, payment details, and insurance correspondence.
• Communicate effectively with patients and insurance providers to clarify billing issues and expedite claim processing.
• Support the healthcare team by ensuring compliance with procedural and regulatory requirements related to billing activities.
• Identify and rectify discrepancies in billing or insurance claims to minimize claim rejections and denials.
• Use basic computer skills to operate billing software and maintain electronic records with accuracy and confidentiality.
